TROY (WWJ) -- Expected charges are pending for a Pontiac woman suspected of driving drunk in a U-Haul truck, last week in Troy.

At around 11:15 p.m. on Monday, July 29, Troy Police officers made a traffic stop on the driver of a 2024 U-Haul, after spotting the vehicle "swaying back and forth between multiple lanes" on Stephenson Hwy. near 14 Mile Rd.

When officers spoke with the driver, identified as a 32-year-old Pontiac resident, they noted "her eyes were bloodshot and watery and there was a strong odor of intoxicants emanating from the vehicle," according to the police report.

After the woman preformed poorly on a series of field sobriety tests, police said she refused to take a breathalyzer test.

The driver was then arrested and taken to the Troy PD lock-up, where she was read her chemical test rights but refused to submit to a breath test, police said.

A search warrant was prepared and granted, and the woman's blood was drawn by medical personnel.

The case was turned over to the Detective Bureau for appropriate warrants once the blood results are returned.

The woman's name was not immediately released.
