    85-year-old husband and 82-year-old wife dead, four injured in head-on crash in Lenawee County

    TECUMSEH (WWJ) A Lenawee County husband and wife, both in their 80’s, died in a head-on collision in Tecumseh Township.

    In a statement on X ; Michigan State Police First District said troopers were dispatched to M-50 near Matthews Highway, in a rural area, on Saturday (8/24) at 5:30 p.m. Investigation revealed a blue Chevy Equinox struck a red Ford Taurus. The Equinox was traveling west, and the Ford Taurus, east.

    The 85-year-old driver of the Equinox and his 82-year-old wife—both from Tecumseh— died from their injuries.

    A 76-year-old Adrian man drove the Ford Taurus. His passengers were a 74-year-old woman, a 26-year-old woman and a 25-year-old man; all from Adrian.

    Paramedics rushed everyone in the Ford to ProMedica Charles and Virginia Hickman Hospital in Adrian with severe injuries, but all are “expected to recover,” according to State Police.

    “Circumstances leading up to the crash are unknown at this time,” State Police said. “However neither alcohol or speed appear to be factors in the crash.”
