Town of Agawam announces road closures for Monday & Tuesday

AGAWAM, Mass. (WWLP) – The Town of Agawam has announced several road closures where the DPW will be applying a fog seal surface coat. Coating starts on Monday and will continue on Tuesday.

The following roads will be affected:

• Lango Lane – Rowley Street to end
• Wisteria Lane – North Street to end
• 1 if by Lane – Independence Road to end
• 2 if by Street – Independence Road to end
• Barry Street – Pine Street to South Westfield Street
• Rugby Road – Wilbert Terrace to end

A fog seal is a thin oil-like liquid spray that is made up of asphalt, water and soap that rejuvenates brittle pavement, and should prevent the formation of potholes. The DPW is asking residents to avoid parking on the affected roads during the construction periods.
