    Massachusetts parents hit and killed in Florida

    EVERETT, Mass. (WWLP) – Tragedy for a family visiting Florida from Massachusetts. The parents of a young girl were hit and killed by a car just feet away from the child.

    The family was from Everett, identified as 54-year-old Ronald Jean Baptiste, 46-year-old Yanique Pierre, and their 7-year-old daughter. Police say they were crossing the street late Wednesday in Lakeland, Florida when a driver hit and killed the two parents.

    Police say the driver had a green light at the time and stayed at the crash site. The 7-year-old daughter was just feet away from the crash but was not hurt. No charges have been filed.
