Register to vote deadline for Massachusetts primaries is this Saturday

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – The state primary is quickly approaching and one big deadline is coming up this Saturday.

This Saturday is the deadline to register to vote, change your party, update your address, or do anything related to your voter registration status.

Springfield election commissioner Gladys Oyola-Lopez told 22News that City Hall will be open this weekend from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. to cater to area voters. The City of Springfield has seen an influx of people requesting mail-in ballots.

Lopez said that about 11,000 voters or 10% of voters in Springfield have chosen to receive a ballot by mail. Whether you plan to vote early, by mail, or come in person there are some dates to keep in mind.

• Vote by Mail Application Deadline: August 26
• Massachusetts Primary: September 3
