    Green Day's Detroit concert briefly paused after drone flies over Comerica Park

    Green Day's concert at Comerica Park in Detroit Wednesday night had a brief "pause" as the band was rushed off stage in the middle of a song.

    The band was performing "Longview" when someone rushed on stage and pulled them off.

    Detroit police confirmed a person flew a drone into Comerica Park. The person was found outside the baseball park by police and was detained.

    The band returned to the stage a few minutes later after the drone flew away to a cheering crowd.

    Green Day posted an apology to social media and credited Detroit police for quickly resolving the situation. The post read:

    "Detroit! Sorry for the delay in the show tonight, Stadium security had us clear the stage while they dealt with a potential safety issue. DPD quickly resolved the situation, and we were able to continue. Thanks for understanding. #greendayDetroit "

    The band performed as the headliners of a concert that also features Rancid and Smashing Pumpkins.
