Police Make Arrest of Individual for Breaking into a Vehicle
Christian Kade Ensign, 18-years-old of Forrest City was taken into custody by the Cross County Sheriff Department without incident on several felony warrants issued out of St. Francis County. This involves an incident that occurred back in October of last year where a vehicle was broken into on Hwy 306-E. The victim reported that two handguns were stolen at the time. Investigators were able to determine that Ensign, who was a juvenile at the time and another juvenile broke into the vehicle and stole the firearms. Ensign's case was ungraded by the Prosecutors Office, and he was charged as an adult. Authorities have since recovered one of the handguns taken. Ensign is currently in the SFC Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in court Wednesday where a bond will be set for Breaking or Entering and Theft of Property (Firearm). The Sheriff Department reminds everyone not to leave their firearm in a vehicle that is left unattended and make sure that you have your serial number written down in case it gets lost or stolen. This will help in entering it into the ACIC database and possibly recovering the firearm.
