American Legion Baseball teams are in Week 14 of Wyoming’s 2024 season. The week begins with numerous conference doubleheaders. Then, tournament action takes over the weekend. Douglas and Gillette have tournaments for A-level teams, while Cheyenne has a Double-A tournament for the second straight weekend. The Gillette Riders and Rock Springs Stallions head to tournaments in North Dakota and Idaho, respectively.
Ram Nitro Places 4th at the State Shoot
The Ram Nitro team competed at the State Shoot this past Friday, Saturday & Sunday at the MTA grounds in Mason MI. The Nitro Team finished in 4th place, 6.5 birds behind the 3rd place team. Each athlete shot 400 rounds over the three days. 100 skeet, 100 sporting clays & 200 trap. Here are the results:

VIRGINIA — Struggling for different reasons across their two games, the Rock Ridge VFW baseball team suffered two losses on Tuesday to visiting Grand Rapids, falling 14-7 in the opening game and 3-0 in the second game. The trio of Lakers, past and present, each qualified for the finals in their event and helped put GVSU on the map nationally at the center of track and field in Eugene, Oregon.

Pit Spitters fall to Rivets in Independence Day Celebration Game
TRAVERSE CITY - The Traverse City Pit Spitters fell 2-1 to the Rockford Rivets on Tuesday as the Pit Spitters held their Independence Day Celebration Game. The Pit Spitters only managed two hits all night in this one, they’re only run was a home run from Vahn Lackey in the 7th inning, and for Rockford their only runs came on a 2-run home run in the 2nd inning. Logan Pikur pitched seven innings for the Pit Spitters giving up two runs and striking out four. he Pit Spitters will finish the first half with a 17-18 record and will take on Royal Oak in their next game on Wednesday.
Sodbusters sweep Plainsmen in first games without Schipper
HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - In the program’s first game without head coach Joel Schipper, who is leaving Hastings to take over at NCAA DIII Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan, the Hastings Sodbusters beat Plainsmen Baseball 7-1. This was the first of a Tuesday doubleheader, since Monday’s game was postponed due to weather. That was scheduled to be Schipper’s last in the Sodbusters’ dugout, but he left for Michigan on Tuesday before the team’s 6 p.m. first pitch.
MSU commit, LS Jack Wills confirms he'll attend upcoming Spartan Dawg Con event
A recent Spartans commit will be back on-campus for a recruiting event later this month. Elite long snapper prospect Jack Wills of Hudsonville, Mich. announced on Monday that he’ll be attending the annual Spartan Dawg Con event later this month. The event will take place on the weekend of July 27.
Six Panthers receive NIRA All-Academic honors
NIRA - Davenport University women's rugby were recgonized by the National Intercollegiate Rugby Association (NIRA) in the 2023-24 NIRA All-Academic honors list. Nicole Carvalho, Ashley Cowdrey, Olivia Farkas, Valencia Goldsmith, Kaley Gustavus,and Addy Ochoa were seven of over 180 student-athletes to receive the honor for the most recent academic year. All six Panthers were part of the historic run by the women's rugby team during the 2023-24 campaign where DU crowned themselves as the NIRA Division II National Champions and finished third overall in the CRAA Premier 7s National Championships.
