Wyoming High School Regional Track Scoreboard: May 10-11, 2024
The first of the two-part Wyoming High School track and field postseason is this weekend, as the regional track meets are at six locations in the state. Shoshoni and Sundance will host two regional competitions, while the rest will host one track meet. Those are in Cheyenne, Mountain View, Rock Springs, and Wheatland. Some individuals and relay teams have pre-qualified for next week’s state track meet. At regionals, the top eight in individual events and the top four in relays will also qualify for next week’s state championships in Casper.
Spring Rodeo Circuit Rolls Through Newcastle
The spring rodeo season has been moving along quickly with 3 more events until the State Finals in Rock Springs. Last week, the cowboys and cowgirls were in Newcastle looking to build up points in the individual standings. Here is the list of the top 2 finishers in each event for Saturday and Sunday's sessions.
Wyoming Legion Baseball Scoreboard: May 6-12, 2024
The 2024 American Legion Baseball moves into Week 6 of the season. The weather has already changed this week’s schedule. Three conference twin bills at the AA level are part of this week’s slate. One got moved to next week. Every team on the schedule has played at least one game this year. A handful of 9-inning games are on the schedule, while the weekend will feature the most action this week.
Wyoming High School Spring Golf Scoreboard: May 6-10, 2024
The Spring Golf season in Wyoming is winding down. Only seven events are left after the weather wiped out Monday’s Casper Spring Invite. Class 2A schools venture to Torrington for their spring championship over two days this week. Wheatland, Lander, and Star Valley are hosting one-day events. The two Casper schools will play their trophy match-up on Friday. It’s Week 7 of the spring season, and only two events are next week.
Laramie’s Addie Forry Signs with Maine Maritime Academy
Addie Forry has enjoyed a productive basketball career for Laramie and will head to the East Coast to continue her career at the Maine Maritime Academy. Forry was an All-State selection in 4A in 2024 as she averaged 14.9 points per game, shooting 50% from the floor from the 2-point range. Her season high was a 41-point effort vs. Green River.
Wyoming High School Softball Scoreboard: May 7-14, 2024
The final week of the prep softball season in Wyoming will happen over the next week. There are several games to determine the four teams from each conference who will participate in next week’s state tournament in Gillette. Seeding will also be determined over the next seven days. Some teams have already finished their regular season. The two Casper schools have postponed this week’s game to next Tuesday, and WyoPreps is extending our scoreboard to cover that change.
Photofest: SEWAC Track Meet
The regular season for high school track and field wrapped up over the weekend with several meets. The annual SEWAC Meet was held in Glenrock this year and the Lingle-Fort Laramie girls placed 1st in the team standings with 147 points, Burns was 2nd with 112.5, Southeast 3rd with 105, Lusk 4th with 101 and Pine Bluffs was 5th with 70.50.

Wyoming High School 3A Soccer Scoreboard: May 6-11, 2024
It is the last week of the regular season for Class 3A girls’ and boys’ soccer teams in Wyoming. Only the top four from each conference will advance to next week’s state tournament in Green River. These last regular-season matches will go a long way toward shaping the first-round matches at the state tournament. There is at least one match each day this week.
Wyoming Legion Baseball Standings: May 6, 2024
Five weeks of the 2024 American Legion Baseball season in Wyoming have been completed. All but two teams have played a game so far this year. Four teams made their season debut last week, and two teams earned at least one win. The first two conference games of 2024 were played last week, and the Cheyenne Sixers, at the AA level, won both. There are no undefeated teams left in the state. The standings include all games played through May 5, 2024.
Wyoming High School 4A Regional Soccer Scoreboards: May 9-11, 2024
It’s time for the Class 4A Regional Soccer Championship tournaments in Afton and Cheyenne on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. The top seed has a first-round bye and has automatically qualified for next week’s state tournament in Rock Springs. Those two are Kelly Walsh and Laramie for the girls, and Jackson and Cheyenne Central for the boys.
Wyoming High School Softball Standings: May 6, 2024
Wyoming's prep softball teams are nearly done with the regular season. With one week of games left, here are the standings through Week 8. There was a change at the top of the West Conference standings, as the Cody Fillies won a big head-to-head ranked showdown last Friday at home. Spots at next week's state tournament are still being determined. This update includes all games played through May 4, 2024.
Wyoming High School Boys Soccer Standings: May 6, 2024
Wyoming High School boys' soccer teams finished the eighth week of the 2024 season last week. There is one week left in the regular season for 3A teams. Class 4A schools are done with the regular season and prepping for regional tournaments. Based on last week's results not much changed in the standings.
Wyoming High School Girls Soccer Standings: May 6, 2024
Eight weeks of the 2024 prep girls' soccer season in Wyoming are in the books. Class 4A teams wrapped up their regular season last week. They are preparing for regional tournaments later this week. Class 3A schools will conclude their regular season this week. Based on last week's results, there was not much movement in the standings.
PhotoFest: Thermopolis Track Meet
The Bobcat at Invitational Track Meet on Friday in Thermopolis was one of the larger events on the track schedule this season with 17 schools participating. The Worland girls took 1st in the team standings with 165 points, Powell was 2nd with 135, Kemmerer 3rd with 74, Big Piney took 4th with 53, and Thermopolis 5th with 47 points.
PhotoFest! Mountain View Track Meet
The annual Jeff Hereford Track Meet was held last week in Mountain View with 7 schools from the southwest part of the state competing. On the girl's side of the meet, Rock Springs took top honors in the team standings with 153 points followed by Big Piney with 136, Mountain View and Green River tied for 3rd with 92, Lyman with 81, and Evanston with 43 points.
Josef Sanchez of Natrona Commits to Minot St. for Wrestling
Natrona County wrestler Josef Sanchez will be climbing the athletic ladder as he signed on with Minot State in North Dakota. In his senior year with the Mustangs, Sanchez advanced to the 4A championship match at 285 pounds and also finished 2nd at 285 at the big Ron Thon Tournament in Riverton. He finished the season 18-3.
