1st Go-Round in the Books at National HS Finals Rodeo
The National High School Finals Rodeo is moving on to the 2nd go-round in Rock Springs and the Wyoming girls team had a solid 1st go and sits in 2nd place behind Texas. Hadley Thompson of Yoder is currently 3rd in the girls all-around as she took 3rd in the 1st go of the goat tying in 7.09. She was 7th in the 1st go of the breakaway in 2.37 with Rhame Hicks of Gillette taking 6th in 2.36. Sheridan's Abagail Olson jumped to 3rd in the barrel racing with a run of 17.215. Kloe Nichols of Boulder was 9th in the 1st go. Caitlin Moore of Wright placed 5th in the first go-round of the pole-bending in 20.111 with Gillette's Abby Milburg 15th. Karly Peterson of Buffalo was 23rd in the girls cutting and Sydnee Roady of Worland was 38th in the reined cow horse event.
Gillette’s Landon Scalise to Run Track at Black Hills State
Landon Scalise, from Thunder Basin High School in Gillette, will further his track and field career at the next level after committing to Black Hills State University in Spearfish, SD. Scalise competed in two individual events and on two relays at the 2024 Wyoming High School Outdoor Track State Championships.
Casper’s Jarron Janzen Inks for Rodeo at Colorado Northwestern CC
Rodeo cowboy Jarron Janzen, who graduated early this year from Kelly Walsh High School, has signed up to compete in rodeo at Colorado Northwestern College. The first go-round of the National High School Finals Rodeo will conclude on Wednesday morning and the 2nd go begins on Wednesday night in Rock Springs. So far, the Wyoming girl's team is running in 3rd place with Yoder's Hadley Thompson sitting in 3rd place in the goat tying. Wyoming Legion Baseball C State Tournament Scoreboard: July 18-22, 2024
The Lovell Legion baseball program hosts the 2024 Wyoming Class ‘C’ State Tournament for Legion Baseball teams in the state. The tournament is July 18-22, 2024, at Cowley Field. These are the youngest players involved with Legion baseball in Wyoming. They are 15 years old and younger. The double-elimination bracket has eight teams. All games are seven innings.

Wyoming Legion Baseball Scoreboard: July 15-21, 2024
It is Week 16 of the 2024 American Legion Baseball in Wyoming. A few Class A East Conference games remain to finalize the seeding for their new Best-of-Three postseason series. This includes some make-up games. The Class A West Conferences have concluded their regular season. At the Class AA level, it’s a mix of a little tournament action, non-conference action, and league games.
Wyoming Legion Baseball A Districts Scoreboard: July 18-21, 2024
Class ‘A’ Legion Baseball teams in Wyoming are into the postseason with one District Tournament and one Best of Three series setup this weekend. The West District Tournament is in Green River from Friday through Sunday. The East will have their new best-of-three series on Saturday and Sunday after the No. 8 and No. 9 seeds square off on Thursday.
Wyoming Legion Baseball Standings: July 15, 2024
Wyoming Legion Baseball teams have completed 15 weeks of the 2024 season. The regular season is nearly complete for most of the Single-A teams. A few games are left in the East Conference before their new Best of 3 postseason series. There are 10 days remaining in the Double-A regular season, and each team has at least one conference twin bill left on the schedule. There was a little bit of movement in this week’s update. The standings include all games played through July 14, 2024.

Lafe Files and Lovell Baseball: WyoPreps Athlete of the Week 7-11-24 [VIDEO]
The Lovell Mustangs rallied from a slow start and won the Bolln Memorial Baseball Tournament in Douglas last week behind the performance of Lafe Files and others. Team USA rallied from two, ten-point deficits to win CanAm Bowl XXVI last Saturday in Meeteetse, WY, 65-44, over Canada. Gage Mintken from Hay Springs, Nebraska ran for 3 TDs, while Wyatt Trembly from Dubois added 2 TD runs and 2 TD passes. Team USA also forced the only two turnovers in the game.

As we look back at the 2024 State Track Meet in Casper, you can't help but admire and appreciate the effort that these athletes displayed. It wasn't a given that they would qualify for State in the first place but on the other side of the equation, some boys and girls had zeroed in on a state championship. There was no shortage of motivation, that's for sure.
PHOTOFEST! CanAm Bowl XXVI Goes to Team USA, 65-44
Team USA scored the final 31 points of the game to beat Canada, 65-44, in CanAm Bowl XXVI last Saturday in Meeteetse, WY. Team USA trailed 44-34 in the third quarter and took the lead for good with 1:55 left in the third. Gage Mintken from Nebraska had 3 TD runs, Wyatt Trembly of Dubois had 2 TD runs and 2 TD passes, and Konner Rowden-Stum from Colorado added 2 more TD runs in the victory for Team USA.

Goodness Okere of Rock Springs Signs with MSU-Billings for Track
Goodness Okere of Rock Springs has decided to pursue his track and field career at Montana State-Billings. At the 2024 Outdoor State Track Meet, Okere took 9th in the triple jump with a leap of 41-7.25. He also placed 9th in that event at the 2022 Outdoor State Track Meet going 41 feet even. At the 2023 Indoor State Track Meet, Okere placed 14th in the triple jump at 37-8.
