The 13th Annual Yadkin County Glory Days Show is planned for this weekend with events Friday and Saturday. The show will feature tractor and lawnmower pulls and an antique tractor and engine show. Events begin at 12 noon on Friday and 9 a.m. on Saturday. Gates will open at 8 a.m. The show is held at 2937 Radiator Road in Yadkinville.

There will be country food available for purchase. Admission is $10 per person, children 8 and under are free.

While the event is mainly a celebration of farm equipment from days-gone-by, event creator Charles Neal said it is also important to him to take time out to honor veterans. Each year, the Glory Days show features special recognition of veterans in attendance. The veterans portion of the event will take place at 12 noon both days.

Neal said the Glory Days show has many returning participants who come back each year as well as newcomers.

Fred Milner was among the returning participants at the 2021 Glory Days festival.

“It’s a great show,” Milner said. “The greatest thing about this show is they honor the veterans and it’s very patriotic.”
