Brewers rookie slugger made MLB history twice vs. Braves

On a tear like no other recently, Milwaukee Brewers rookie outfielder Jackson Chourio made MLB history several times Thursday in a 16-7 blowout win over the Atlanta Braves.

Chourio finished 3-for-5 on the day with two home runs and four RBI. At 20 years and 150 days old, he became the youngest player in Milwaukee history to go deep twice in one game, topping Hall of Famer Hank Aaron, per MLB Pipeline .

Meanwhile, according to Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Chourio is the youngest player to reach base safely at least 10 times while recording two homers and two stolen bases over a three-game stretch. Hall of Famers Mel Ott and Joe Morgan are the only players in MLB history to accomplish the feat at age 21.

Following Thursday's outing, Chourio has compiled a seven-game hit streak, going 15-of-35 with a double, two home runs and six RBI over that stretch. Though, this may only be the beginning for the Brewers young slugger.

Chourio struggled initially after making his MLB debut in March for the Brewers. Through 50 games, he slashed .210/.254/.327 with five home runs, 16 RBI and far more strikeouts (47) than walks (10). However, since then, he's seemingly begun to adjust to major-league pitching.

Over his last 50 games, Chourio is batting .339/.380/.546 with nine long balls and 32 RBI. Meanwhile, his strikeout (32) to walk (13) ratio has also shown signs of improvement.

Chourio has played only 101 games in the majors but has lofty goals, especially after showcasing his power and speed combo. With 14 home runs and 15 stolen bases, he hopes to join the 20/20 club, maybe even this year.

"I know myself that I've got the ability," Chourio told Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel . "The job is to show it."
