Texas A&M head coach Mike Elko.

Checking in at 6-foot-4, 290 pounds even before his senior year of high school, four-star defensive lineman recruit DJ Sanders certainly profiles as a big-time prospect.

He has nearly 20 offers to his name — a list that includes schools like Alabama, Michigan, Texas, LSU and Notre Dame — but he recently chose to commit to the Texas A&M Aggies.

Sanders' commitment was announced on social media:

247Sports' Andrew Hattersley suggested Sanders had been one of new head coach Mike Elko's top targets on the recruiting trail, so to win his commitment over programs like Michigan, LSU, Notre Dame and in-state rival, Texas, is no small deal for the Aggies.

There's also the projection of Sanders' talent that should have fans in College Station excited. As a junior, the big defensive lineman notched 115 tackles, 28 tackles for loss, 15 sacks and three forced fumbles.

If he has another big campaign as a senior at Bellville High School (Bellville, Texas), his already impressive national recruiting profile will keep growing. According to the 247Sports composite, Sanders is the No. 10 defensive lineman in the 2025 class.
