Major League Baseball is continuing its trend of hosting games in unconventional settings by playing an Atlanta Braves-Cincinnati Reds game at Bristol Motor Speedway on Aug. 2, 2025 of next season.

That became official on Friday when the league unveiled a rendering of what the field will look like inside of the race track.

    Here it is:

The NHL originally started to popularize playing games in unconventional settings with its Winter Classic, Heritage Classic and Stadium Series outdoor games over the past two decades, and now baseball is starting to join in on the fun.

It has previously played games at Fort Bragg, the Field of Dreams cornfield in Iowa and this season's games in London. Trying out a race track is the next venue in line.

Some of the sight lines for fans might be a little rough given how far away from the field they might be, but there is a good chance the place will be packed for fans just wanting to get a different experience.

This is will not be the first time a non-racing sporting event has taken place at Bristol. Back in 2016, the University of Tennessee played Virginia Tech in a college football game that drew over 156,000 fans.

The largest attendance ever for a Major League Baseball game was 115,300 for an exhibition game between the Boston Red Sox and Los Angeles Dodgers at the Los Angeles Coliseum back in 2008. That record has a very good chance of being broken at this game.
