New York Yankees designated hitter Giancarlo Stanton.

Despite some durability issues throughout his career, New York Yankees designated hitter Giancarlo Stanton remains one of the most consistent sluggers in baseball.

On Sunday, in the bottom of the fifth inning against the Rangers, Stanton crushed an 83 mph slider from Texas pitcher Jose Leclerc for a three-run homer, giving the Yankees a 5-0 lead. The 405-foot moonshot marked his 20th home run in 78 games this season.

Stanton, 34, now has 13 seasons with 20 or more home runs. According to Codify Baseball, nine other major leaguers, including Hall of Famers Lou Gehrig, Ernie Banks and Frank Thomas, have reached this milestone.

Stanton recently returned to the Yankees lineup after spending most of July on the injured list with a hamstring issue. Apparently, the five-time All-Star is finally shaking off the rust. In a 9-4 loss to the Rangers on Saturday, he went 1-for-4, hitting one home run and tallying two RBI.
