Nothing like some plus-money MLB props to cure the Mondays

St. Louis Cardinals starting pitcher Sonny Gray.
Happy Monday, sports bettors. The Paris Olympics came to an end on Sunday, so we won't be able to bet on the Olympic Games until the torch visits Los Angeles in 2028. The good news is we have a full slate of MLB action on deck Monday night, and we're looking to target a few juicy props to get the week started on the right foot.
Gray is one of the elite strikeout artists in MLB. The St. Louis Cardinals right-hander ranks in the 91st percentile in strikeout rate (30.4 percent), the 73rd percentile in whiff rate (28.3 percent) and the 69th percentile in chase rate (30.2 percent) this season. He's recorded at least eight strikeouts in nine of his 21 starts.
As for the matchup, Gray has had success forcing swings and misses against this Cincinnati Reds lineup. In 41 combined plate appearances against Gray, current Reds hitters have a 36.6 percent strikeout and a .203 xBA.
Corey Seager flipped a switch when the calendar flipped to August. The Texas Rangers shortstop is batting .400 and slugging 1.040 with a whopping 61.9 percent hard-hit rate against right-handed pitching this month, and he's recorded 11 RBIs in those nine games.
This is a solid matchup against Red Sox righty Brayan Bello, who's surrendered at least five hits and three earned runs in six of his last eight starts. Bello throws his sinker 40 percent of the time, which is great news for Seager because he's batting .352 with a .541 xSLG and a 58.6 percent hard-hit rate against sinker this year.
In the news ...
USA wins medal count at Paris Olympics, ties China for the most gold medals — Team USA men's and women's basketball defeated France over the weekend to win gold medals, helping the United States lead the Paris Olympics in total medals with 126. The USA and China both won 40 gold medals to tie for the most golds in 2024. The Americans were massive -750 favorites to win the most gold medals, so tying another country is a bit of a disappointment.
Aaron Rai wins rain-soaked Wyndham Championship to cash our 40-1 outright ticket — It was a wild Sunday at Sedgefield Country Club, as players were split into groups of three and rushed through two rounds to finish on time. In the end, Rai prevailed thanks to a birdie on the 72nd hole and a blowup by then-leader Max Greyserman down the stretch. We gave out Rai at 40-1 to win the Wyndham Championship last week, giving us our second straight outright winner in golf.
Caleb Williams looks sharp in first preseason action — Chicago Bears fans got a glimpse of their future when Williams, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, made his preseason debut on Saturday . The USC product completed four of his seven pass attempts for 95 yards and rushed once for 13 yards, but his poise and patience under pressure stood out the most. Williams is +140 to win Rookie of the Year.
