One recurring question about 2024 Packers makes HC Matt LaFleur 'want to vomit'

Green Bay Packers head coach Matt LaFleur.

The Packers are one of the youngest teams in the NFL. Because of their lack of experience, many have questioned if they have what it takes to truly contend in 2024.

One of the main areas of concern is wide receiver, where the team seeming lacks a true No. 1 option.

Since the team traded three-time All-Pro and six-time Pro Bowl wide receiver Davante Adams to the Raiders, it hasn't even had a wide receiver eclipse 800 yards.

While that may be concerning to some, it isn't for head coach Matt LaFleur, who is sick of answering that question.

"I want to vomit every time I hear No. 1 receiver. It drives me crazy," LaFleur told reporters . "That's something you guys talk about. I think we've got a bunch of them."

The Packers do have several wide receivers that can have a big game on any given week. Second- and third-year wide receivers Christian Watson, Romeo Doubs, Jayden Reed and Dontayvion Wicks have all shown just that.

However, can any of them do it consistently? LaFleur thinks so.

"I think the beauty of them is they're capable of doing many things, which gives us a lot of versatility from an offensive perspective in terms of how we use these guys and deploy their talents," LaFleur added. "Especially those, I would say top-four guys, they're capable of being a No. 1 in some capacity."

Only time will tell if one of Green Bay's young receivers will emerge as a true No. 1, but LaFleur seems to be okay if that doesn't happen. He is solely focused on trying to win specific matchups every week and that could translate to another season without a 1,000-yard wide receiver.

"It's just how do we want to attack somebody? Where do we want to put those guys? Who's going to get the ball?," LaFleur asked. "I don't know. It could change on a week-to-week basis. We saw it last year."

The 2023 Kansas City Chiefs won Super Bowl LIV without a 1,000-yard wide receiver, so why can't the 2024 Green Bay Packers?
