Some college football fans face a tough decision on Oct. 12, a popular date for fall weddings and a day packed with games that could shake up the College Football Playoff picture.

According to The Knot , a wedding planning website, October is a prime month for weddings, with Oct. 12 ranking as the fifth-most-popular wedding date in 2024.

Headlining Oct. 12 action is No. 2 Ohio State at No. 3 Oregon. Plus, the Red River Rivalry between No. 4 Texas and No. 16 Oklahoma takes place that day in Dallas.

In the SEC, No. 5 Ole Miss will face No. 13 LSU in Baton Rouge, and No. 8 Penn State will be in Los Angeles to play No. 23 USC, the first meeting between the schools since the Trojans' thrilling 52-49 victory in the 2017 Rose Bowl.

Other notable games on Oct. 12 include Florida at No. 15 Tennessee and No. 18 Kansas State at Colorado.

The clash between game day and wedding day has ignited a buzz on social media.

For college football fans, Oct. 12 is shaping up to be a day of tough choices. Whether they’re standing at the altar or sitting in the stands, one thing is certain: The pull of college football will be hard to resist.
