Look of the Day 8/23: You should run, to fade Walker

Look of the Day: Kansas City Royals team total over 4.5 (-125 DraftKings )

Phillies at Royals, 8:10 p.m. ET

The Royals are taking on the Philadelphia Phillies in a star-studded interleague matchup, and we expect Kansas City to light up the scoreboard in a juicy matchup.

We honestly can't believe the Phillies keep giving the ball to Taijuan Walker. The right-hander has been abysmal all season, ranking in the first percentile in xERA (6.39), barrel rate (14.3 percent), hard-hit rate (49.1 percent) and average exit velocity (91.7 mph). He's given up at least three earned runs in nine of his 12 starts this year, and opposing teams have scored at least five runs in nine of his total appearances and seven straight.

This is one of the toughest tests Walker will face this year, too. The Royals rank No. 2 in MLB this month in OPS (.850), wOBA (.363) and wRC+ (133) against righties. They also feast on sinkers, which is the pitch Walker uses the most (28 percent). That's why current Royals hitters have a .357 xBA, a .396 xwOBA and a .557 xSLG in 54 plate appearances against Walker.

Even if Walker pitches well, which is unlikely, the Phillies bullpen has the fifth-highest ERA and the sixth-highest slugging percentage allowed (.465) over the last two weeks. The Royals should put up a big number in this one.
