Seattle Seahawks wide receiver DK Metcalf (14) pulls in a touchdown.

The start of the 2024 NFL regular season is nearly a week away, so you don't have much time left to polish off your preseason futures portfolio. We've been breaking down Super Bowl odds, awards markets and win totals for weeks, but there are countless other futures markets available to bet on legal sportsbooks around the country.

Let's get into some wacky NFL prop markets for the 2024 season and see if there's any value to be found in the dark corners of the books.

Most regular-season kickoff return touchdowns ( FanDuel )

The new kickoff rules are going to drastically change how special teams coordinators approach returns. Coaches will be able to get creative with kickoff returns, and due to the new setup, there will be more opportunities for speedy returners to grab the ball and run. We might see more kickoff return touchdowns this year than we have in a while.

Our favorite bet in this market is the Dallas Cowboys at +3100. John Fassel is one of the most creative special teams coordinators in the NFL, and KaVontae Turpin recorded the highest kickoff return average (29.2 yards) among all players with at least 10 returns last year.

Race to 100 total points ( DraftKings )

You can bet on which team will reach 100 total points first in the regular season. That milestone will likely come early in Week 4, but it's possible a team could reach 100 points as soon as Week 3. The Buffalo Bills (+700), Detroit Lions (+750) and Miami Dolphins (+800) are understandably the favorites in this market, but we like the Seattle Seahawks (+2500) and the Washington Commanders (+6500) as long-shot targets.

The Seahawks have a few explosive weapons on offense, and they bring in Ryan Grubb as their new offensive coordinator. The Washington Huskies ranked seventh in the country in yards per play and ninth in offensive touchdowns per game under Grubb last year, and he's going to open up a vertical passing game for DK Metcalf, Tyler Lockett and Jaxon Smith-Njigba. As for the Commanders, Jayden Daniels is a dynamic athlete at the QB position, and it may take NFL teams a few weeks to figure him out.

Next player to have 150+ receiving yards in a regular season game ( DK )

As the NFL moves more and more to a pass-first league, more players than ever can reach the 150-yard receiving mark. We saw 33 150-yard receiving performances last season, so this prop could cash in Week 1.

We like Justin Jefferson at +700, as he gets to go up against a New York Giants defense in Week 1 that might have the worst secondary in the NFL. As for a long shot, Khalil Shakir (+6500) could dice up an atrocious Arizona Cardinals defense in Week 1 with no Stefon Diggs or Gabe Davis on the Buffalo Bills.

Detroit Lions to have the best record in the NFL and New England Patriots to have the worst record in the NFL (+3600 FD )

This is an ultra-specific one under the Futures Fusion tab on FanDuel, but we wouldn't touch it with a 10-foot pole. For starters, the Lions aren't even the favorites to finish with the best record in the regular season. Detroit is fifth on the odds board at +100. The Patriots are +270 favorites to finish with the worst record in the regular season due to their lack of talent and brutal schedule.

If you parlay two regular bets priced at +1000 and +270, you should get a ticket worth +3970. At +3600, we're not entertaining this prop.
