Watch: Simone Biles visits Caitlin Clark after record-breaking night

As Caitlin Clark continues to shatter records and shine a spotlight on women's basketball, a certain GOAT couldn't help but pay her respects.

Following their 84-80 win over the Sun on Wednesday night, Clark and her Fever teammates shared a cool moment backstage with Simone Biles at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. Biles was accompanied by another Team USA olympian, Gabby Thomas, who clinched three gold medals for her track and field exploits at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Both Biles and Thomas revealed they were visiting their first WNBA game, but vowed to make it a routine affair going forward.

Clark was seemingly surprised to run into Biles near the locker room.

It was a momentous night for the Fever. First, they snapped the powerhouse Sun's winning streak to inch half a game closer to the Mercury for the sixth seed. Second, the home fans in Indiana got to bask in the moment when golden girl Clark clinched the single-season record for most threes by a rookie.

With just nine games left in the regular season, the Fever — with a three-and-a-half-game lead over the eighth-seeded Sky — are almost a lock to qualify for the playoffs. They can take another step toward locking up a postseason berth with a win over the Sky on Friday in a game that will pit Rookie of the Year candidates Clark and Angel Reese against each other.

A year ago, the Fever finished with a 13-27 record and missed the playoffs. The Caitlin Clark effect is real.
