Stabbed and choked, man escapes Hyannis kidnapping, police say
A man was held against his will, choked with a belt and stabbed at a home on Cape Cod before escaping early Thursday morning, police said. The two alleged kidnappers were soon arrested — one of them, who'd been wanted in a separate incident on the Cape, after a brief chase on foot, according to Barnstable police.

No injuries after vessel strikes rocks off Osterville
OSTERVILLE – Marine rescue units were called to a marine incident at Collier’s Ledge off Osterville. The report came in sometime after 8 AM Saturday that a 36 foot vessel had struck rocks and was disabled with 8 people on board. Centerville-Osterville-Marstons Mills and Hyannis boats along with the Coast Guard were responding.
Two people evaluated after crash leaves vehicle on top of another in Dennis
DENNIS – Somehow no serious injuries were reported after a wild crash scene unfolded in Dennis sometime after 10:30 AM Saturday. The collision happened at the intersection of Main Street (Route 6A) and Airline Road and School Streets. According to reports a SUV wound up on top of a Toyota Prius. Traffic was blocked in the area while the scene was worked. Dennis Police are investigating how the crash occurred.
Several ambulances called to crash in Falmouth
FALMOUTH – Four ambulances were called to a traffic crash in Sandwich sometime after 10 PM Friday. The collision happened on Nathan Ellis Highway (Route 151) at Sandwich Road. None of the injuries were believed to be life-threatening. The cause of the crash is under investigation by Falmouth Police.
Vehicle vs boat trailer stalls traffic on Route 151 in Mashpee
MASHPEE – A Jeep collided with a boat trailer in Mashpee around 10 AM Thursday. The crash happened on Nathan Ellis Highway (Route 151) near Old Barnstable Road. The trailer attached to a pickup truck appeared to be carrying a Mashpee Department of Natural resources vessel. No injuries were reported. The incident is under investigation. Traffic was tied up in the area until the vehicles could be removed.
New police officer sworn in at Dennis PD
DENNIS – Thursday morning, Dennis Town Clerk Terri Bunce swore in the newest member of the Dennis Police Department, Abigail Plourde. Officer Plourde grew up in Plymouth, MA where she graduated from Plymouth South High School. Prior to attending the Police Academy, Abigail worked as a Public Safety Officer at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Plymouth, MA and is a graduate of the inaugural class of the Massachusetts State Police Cadet Program.

Driver extricated after traffic on Route 28 in Mashpee
MASHPEE – Firefighters had to extricate a victim from a traffic collision in Mashpee. The crash happened on Falmouth Road (Route 28) by Sampsons Mill Road. The victim was transported to Cape Cod Hospital under a trauma alert. Traffic was tied up in the area while the scene was worked. Mashpee Police are investigating the cause of the crash.
