Navy Commander Crystal L. Schaefer became the 78th commander of the USS Constitution at a ceremony held on June 21, 2024, at the Charlestown Navy Yard in Boston, MA. CDR Schaefer is daughter of members Michael and Debra Schaefer of Gilman. Michael Schaefer also served as JREC interim general manager from July 2021 to June 2022.
Man arrested after allegedly raping minor in Brookline hotel
A 45-year-old man was arrested this week after he allegedly drove to Brookline from Pennsylvania and raped a minor whom he had met on a social media app. Edward Garry is facing charges of enticing a child under 16 and aggravated rape of a child, according to records from Brookline District Court.
