DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — The latest special by Yellow Springs’ favorite son received two Primetime Emmy nominations, announced Wednesday.

“Dave Chappelle: Dreamer,” which premiered on Netflix on Dec. 31, was nominated for Outstanding Variety Special (Pre-Recorded). Its director, Stan Lathan, was nominated for Outstanding Directing For a Variety Special.

The special is competing with two music and showbiz legends , as well as two other standup specials:

Van Dyke recently set the record for oldest Daytime Emmy winner (98) — and overall oldest Emmy winner — when he took home the trophy for a guest role on Peacock’s “Days of Our Lives.”

Lathan’s competition in the directing category is:

    • Glenn Weiss, “76th Annual Tony Awards”
