Thurston County Sheriff Derek Sanders had a well-timed bathroom break Saturday night, according to his own post on social media.

About 11 p.m. Saturday, his department was responding to multiple domestic violence calls, including one on state Route 507 in Yelm where a man allegedly was prowling on the victim’s property and sending threatening text messages.

Sanders, according to his Facebook page, joined K-9 Bowie, Yelm police and Nisqually police to find the suspect.

    Then this:

“While checking SR507, human nature intervened and my Wendy’s lemonade had ran its course,” Sanders posted on Facebook. “While looking for a bush on the side of the road to go potty, I located the suspect hiding in a small field. He was placed under arrest and is off to the county jail.”

According to Thurston County jail information, a 53-year-old man was arrested in the 14800 block of SR 507 on suspicion of harassment/domestic violence and stalking/domestic violence.
