There are mounting frustration in Westchester's largest city. Parents and students showed up to Yonkers Middle High School early to register for summer classes, only to be forced to wait outside in the hot sun for hours. "We're hot, we're hungry, we've been here for hours," said parent Kurtina Arnold, who was waiting online to register her son for classes. "I arrived here at 10 a.m. today to register my son for summer school and I'm still on line, I've been here almost three hours now." Some students passed the time making TikTok videos. A pair of rising seniors tell News12 they arrived around 8 a.m., and thankfully managed to get the classes they needed . "I know a lot of people that don't get the classes because sometimes they are full," said one of them. Student Jefferson Duren told News12 he thinks the class he needs is full. When asked what he was going to do, he said "I don't know, I'm going to find out. I feel like I came here for no reason." People said they had no idea the process was going to be like this. "I'm extremely grateful I don't have to work today, cuz I dont know how I was going to be here if I had to work today," said student TT Jones. Parents tell News 12 they don't understand how something that the district does every single year, could be such a mess. "It's out of order and something definitely needs to be done. Someone needs to do something," said Kurtina Arnold. The district tells News 12 that parents were notified of the specific times set for enrollment. It is unclear why hundreds of people were forced to wait outside. "
