The wait is over for Chick-fil-A fans. The chain's first locally owned and operated eatery — with a two-lane drive-thru — opens July 25 at 6:30 a.m. on Central Park Avenue in Yonkers.

This is the company's first full-service eatery in the county. It's also one of the only with double lanes for faster service. Chick-fil-A's other Westchester location opened last June at the Ardsley Travel Plaza on the New York State Thruway.

On the menu: A variety of sandwiches, salads, biscuits, fries and more including the traditional chicken sandwich, grilled chicken sandwich, Chick-Fil-A nuggets, and even, for those who didn't know the restaurant offered breakfast, fresh fruit and a berry parfait.

Other breakfast items include a spicy chicken biscuit, hash brown scramble burrito, and bacon, egg and cheese muffin.

Yonkers resident Israel Allmand, who was 15 when he began working at his local Chick-fil-A in Orlando, Florida, is the independent franchised local owner-operator of this location where part of his job entails tailoring philanthropic efforts to meet the Yonkers community’s needs.

In celebration of the opening, Chick-fil-A, Inc. has donated $25,000 to Feeding America to support local hunger relief efforts of Feeding Westchester, a Feeding America partner food bank.

Allmand also plans to participate in the Chick-fil-A Shared Table program, an initiative that redirects surplus food from the restaurant to local soup kitchens, shelters, food banks and nonprofits. And, in keeping loyal to the city it's in, Chick-fil-A Central Park Ave and Roxbury is recognizing 100 local heroes making an impact in the area by providing them with free Chick-fil-A entrées for a year.

Summer openings: 17 new Westchester restaurants with 8 more coming

"Our primary objective," said Allmand, is to serve guests as quickly as possible and give them great tasting chicken and hospitality."

    And look for

Another Chick-fil-A will open later this summer at 913B Central Park Avenue in Scarsdale. This one, it should be noted, will offer more of a dine-in experience; Yonkers is soley for take-out and drive-thru.

    If you go

Address: 2205 Central Park Ave. (at Roxbury), Yonkers, 914-619-5885, chick-fil-a.com

    Hours: 6:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
