    Two men sentenced to 20 to 40 years in prison for June 2020 killing: DA

    Roddrick Battle, 22, of West York, and Luis Rosado, 19, of York, pleaded guilty to third-degree murder charges last week for the June 2020 shooting death of Michael Quinones III. They were each sentenced to 20 to 40 years in prison, according to the York County District Attorney's Office.

    The shooting took place on June 23, 2020. York City Police were dispatched to 515 W. Princess St.. There, police found the victim, Quinones III, deceased in the backyard of the address, with an obvious gunshot wound to the head, according to the criminal complaint.

    While on the scene, officers found shell casings from .40- and .380-caliber guns near his body.

    Video surveillance obtained from a local store showed the victim inside and outside the store with two other males. At the time, one of those men was positively identified as Rosado. The other was later identified as Battle. Both men were seen with handguns while inside the store.

    The video showed Quinones leaving the store with Rosado and Battle as they walked east from thestore and towards the location of the shooting. Quinones, Rosado and Battle were seen entering the backyard of 515 W. Princess St., before several gunshots were heard.

    Video surveillance obtained from the 500 block of Newton Avenue showed Rosado and Battle running from the backyard, and Rosado was seen holding his right side while "a distinct bulge outline" was also apparent.Battle was seen "holding a gun to the right side of his abdomen in his right hand while running," according to the affidavit of probable cause.

    At the time, police believed Battle and Rosado shot and killed Quinones during a robbery of a cell phone and money.
