Hot Stove baseball: Grafton Midview General Plug comes through in winner-take-all final to win Class E state title
ALLIANCE — It took twice as long as they were hoping but Grafton Midview General Plug finally got its hands on the Class E Hot Stove state championship trophy. After dropping the first game of the day in extra innings to force a winner-take-all final Sunday in the mid-afternoon sun, Grafton Midview came out swinging and defeated Alliance Rick Black Photography 15-9 at Butler Rodman Park.

Today the NOPGA hosted their last 18 hole event of the season at Columbia Hills. In the Boys 16-19 division, Fitch Farina earned his win after a one under par, 70. In the Girls 16-19 division, Emma Packard took home her win after a ten over par, 81. In the Boys 14-15 division, Peyton Wolf grabbed his win after a three over par, 74. In the Girls 11-15 division, Yumi Kohara took home yet another win after a ten over par, 81. In the Boys 11-13 division, Coleson Paez and Elijah Stewart tied with a pair of one over par, 72’s.

ALLIANCE — Grafton Midview did not waste its one chance to make a first impression. The Mavericks blew open their Hot Stove baseball Class F state semifinal with nine runs in the first inning and rolled to a 12-2 win over the North Ridgeville Scorpions in five innings at Butler Rodman Park on Saturday afternoon.
