Ukiah Warehouse Engulfed in Flames
A fierce fire erupted early this morning, Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at the C&S Waste Solutions warehouse in Ukiah, triggering a large-scale emergency response. The blaze, dubbed Taylor IC, was reported at 4:08 a.m. at 3515 Taylor Drive. Initially contained, the fire spread to a nearby field by 4:52 a.m.
Man arrested for alleged robbery in Ukiah; second suspect being sought
UKIAH, Ca., 7/4/24 — Ukiah Police Department (UPD) arrested a man on the evening of June 25 on suspicion of robbery. UPD is currently looking for a second suspect. Police responded to the alleged robbery in progress near Express Mart on Gobbi Street in Ukiah. A 28-year-old man reported that two suspects robbed him of his bicycle and personal belongings. The suspects fled before police arrived.
Fire destroys former pear storage warehouse in Ukiah
A large warehouse and a beloved piece of Ukiah history was destroyed early Tuesday in a fire at C&S Waste Solutions, the Ukiah Valley Fire Authority reported. UVFA Chief Doug Hutchinson said that the first fire alarm began sounding around 4 a.m. July 2, and that a 911 call placed soon after confirmed that there was a fire in the large building that used to serve as cold storage for boxes of picked fruit when the warehouse was a pear picking plant.
