YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) — Bishop David Bonnar has appointed a new vice-chancellor for the Diocese of Youngstown.

Dominic Colucy was selected and will assume his position July 1, assisting Chancellor Joan Lawson with her duties.

Colucy has also served in the Office of the Safe Environment, where his title changes from environment coordinator to director. He will continue working with compliance officers at parishes to provide training on preventing abuse and grooming behavior.

“I am so grateful for this opportunity to serve the faithful of the Diocese of Youngstown. Additionally, knowing how much Bishop Bonnar supports the ministry of safe environment and child protection, I am honored that he has entrusted me with this important responsibility,” Colucy said.

Colucy has worked in the diocese since 2017 and has also served as director of religious education at the Basilica of Saint John the Baptist and Saint Peter Parish in Canton. He graduated from the Duke University Divinity School and Walsh University.
