YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) — Detectives are investigating two separate shootings Friday that injured two people and several other incidents of gunfire over the weekend.

Detectives are still looking into a shooting Friday where a man was shot in the thigh in front of a club on North Phelps Street downtown. Reports said witnesses said the shooter ran away on foot toward a parking deck at Youngstown State University. The university was briefly locked down as police searched for the suspect who managed to elude officers.

Chief of Detectives Capt. Jason Simon said the victim and shooter have an ongoing feud and the shooting happened when they ran into each other downtown.

On Friday evening, police say a man was wounded in a shooting at Sloan Avenue and Robinwood Place on the North Side. Very little information was provided on that shooting.

Last Thursday, police collected several shell casings where an SUV was damaged by gunfire. No one was hurt in that shooting.

On Saturday police were called to a home on Samuel Street where reports said police found eight casings from an unspecified rifle in the street and a casing from a pistol round. Two adults and five children were in the house but no one was hurt.

On Sunday, police found twenty-five 9mm shell casings after answering a gunfire call on Weston Avenue. Reports said a witness told police a group of people fired several shots at an upstairs bedroom where someone the group was feuding with was staying. No one was hurt.
