CoreCivic has openings for corrections officers, which start at $24 an hour, as well as other opportunities across the facility, in nursing, maintenance and even administrative assistants.

It’s holding a job fair next week where those interested can explore its opportunities. All the positions offer a variety of benefits, bonuses and incentives.

CoreCivic is ready to talk with applicants.

“We have anything from nursing to warehouse managers, secretarial positions, clerical positions. We have all types of things inside the institution. It’s like a mini-community,” says Douglas Fender, a warden with CoreCivic. “Everything that can happen in our communities happens inside the institution as well.”

The job fair is coming up Tuesday from 10 to 2. It’s being held in a safe building outside the fence at CoreCivic, which is at 2240 Hubbard Rd.

You can learn more about the numerous available positions on its website. Applicants can apply online before attending the job fair, but it’s not required. A list of the jobs available at the Youngstown location can be viewed on its careers page.
