YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – Thursday is Miracle Treat Day at area Dairy Queens. It allows customers to support local children’s hospitals by simply buying a Blizzard.

A dollar or more from each purchase at franchise locations in Austintown, Boardman, Canfield, Columbiana, Cornersburg and Hubbard goes to Akron Children’s Hospital in Boardman.

Customers can also receive coupons by purchasing a Miracle Balloon of coupons.

Franchise owners, Chrissy and Raymond Smith, say giving has never been so sweet.

“It’s our way of giving back and making sure the funds stay locally so that no child that needs treatment here in our area is turned away due to the inability to pay,” Chrissy said.

The six franchise locations have donated more than $22,000 combined to the Children’s Miracle Network so far this year.
