YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) — The Mahoning Valley’s famous organist who died earlier this week was honored in the Trinity United Methodist Church’s service Sunday morning.

On Friday morning, Sean Baran was on his way to practice at Trinity United Methodist when he was hit by a car and killed in Boardman.

Trinity United Methodist has the largest organ in Youngstown, and Baran loved to play and practice at the church.

Pastor Sam Mohn says Sunday’s service honored his life after his sudden passing. The church played one of his favorite songs, “This Is My Father’s World” to honor his love for the community and hiking.

“This morning, the feeling was still processing a loss, but we know as people of faith that even when tragic death happens that we as people of faith know that life has changed, not ended,” Mohn said.

Mohn says the church still plans on continuing his legacy by hosting community events that Baran was passionate about.
