Dunkin’ Donuts is celebrating its first location in Youngtown with a brew of free giveaways 7-9 a.m. July 1.

The new store at 11121 Grand Ave. is hosting a grand opening where the first 100 customers in line, starting at 7:30 a.m., will receive free coffee for a year (four free medium hot/iced coffees per month).

The store is also donating $1,500 to the Valley View Food Bank.

“It’s important that we give back to the communities we serve and helping organizations like Valley View Community Food Bank is one way we can do that,” said Alex Apodaca with Quality Brands, a large Arizona franchisee. “This impactful nonprofit helps provide food security for neighbors who may be struggling here in the west valley.”

Youngtown Mayor Michael LeVault, fellow councilmembers and town officials will assist with the ribbon cutting at 8:25 a.m. before jumping behind the counter to welcome customers.

Members of the Kūliaikapono Hula Studio will keep customers entertained starting at 7:45 a.m. Police, sheriff’s deputies, firefighters and teachers can grab a free medium coffee and donut all day long at the new location. Guests can also claim some Dunkin’ swag when they sign up for Dunkin’ Rewards.

“Youngtown was originally founded as a retirement community that has grown into a thriving town,” Apodaca said. “We are excited to be part of this growth and bring Dunkin’ favorites to both long-time and new fans here in this exciting area of town.”

The new store features a drive-thru, a modern "nextgen" design and in-store innovations. These include new elements including a beverage bar tap system for nitro and cold-brewed coffee, a mobile order drive thru lane, plus free WIFI and charging stations. Guests will also have ample indoor and outdoor seating, in addition to its signature 50 plus donut combinations and dozens of premium coffee, teas and other beverages.

The Youngtown location employs approximately 30 crew members, who join a team of more than 5,000 Arizonans employed at Dunkin’ locations across the state. Each year, franchisees and guests donate through Dunkin’s Joy in Childhood Foundation to local food banks, children’s hospitals and more. The foundation has provided donations of more than $500,000 in Arizona during the past two years alone. Arizona franchisees average an additional $20,000 each year in donations to local schools, children’s sports teams, nurses and other community organizations.

Dunkin’, founded in 1950, is the largest coffee and donuts brand in the United States, with more than 13,200 restaurants in nearly 40 global markets. Dunkin’ is part of the Inspire Brands family of restaurants.
