    Section of a Visalia park to be closed

    TULARE, Calif. ( KSEE/KGPE ) – A section of Mooney Grove Park in Visalia will be closed until further notice due to the Coffeepot Fire, according to officials with Tulare County Parks.

    Officials with Tulare County Parks say they are collaborating with the National Park Services Incident Response Team by utilizing the park as the staging site to combat the Coffeepot fire in Sequoia National Park.

    Coffeepot Fire continues to grow in Sequoia National Park

    The Coffeepot fire started on Aug. 3. As of Monday morning, the fire is burning 869 acres, according to Cal Fire. The fire is eight miles east of Three Rivers.

    Cal Fire says the fire was caused by lightning.
