    New evacuation warnings in place for Boone Fire as it jumps county line

    FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. ( KSEE/KGPE ) – New evacuation warnings have been issued for the Boone Fire after jumping the Fresno County line into Monterey County, Cal Fire said.

    According to Cal Fire, the wildfire which caught flame 10 miles west of Coalinga on Tuesday was 17,766 acres large as of Friday afternoon. The blaze is 10% contained.

    According to Cal Fire, zone P20 in Fresno County, and zones G021 and G029-A in Monterey County have been upgraded to evacuation warnings. Evacuation warnings for Fresno County zones P11B, P17, P22B, and P23 remain in place.

    Per the Cal Fire website , P13 and P12 have been split into two zones since Thursday’s update ; half of P13 (P13B) and half of P12 (P12B) were downgraded to warnings. Evacuation orders remain in place for Fresno County zones P13A, P12A, P11A, P21, and P22A.

    As of Thursday afternoon, fire officials say 75 structures are threatened.

    The American Red Cross says their Central Valley Chapter has opened an evacuation center at Coalinga College on 300 W. Cherry Lane. Small pets are welcome, but pet owners are encouraged to bring water, food, pet carriers and leashes if possible.
