( WJET/WFXP ) – An MLB World Champion and former Erie SeaWolves manager is making his return to the region next week for a special event.

Lance Parrish will be at UPMC Park on Aug. 28 to promote a new book, “The Enchanted Season,” with co-author Tom Gage, a former Tigers beat writer.

Port Farms’ Flower Fest & Craft Show returns next week for its second year

Parrish was a member of the 1984 World Champion Detroit Tigers before he was named the 15th manager in SeaWolves history and served as the longest-tenured SeaWolves manager, leading the club from 2014-2017.

The new book chronicles the 1984 Tigers campaign as they captured the franchise’s first World Championship since 1968.
