More than half of Allen County students are failing reading ILEARN; Districts split on improvements
FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – The Indiana Department of Education released the results for the 2023-2024 ILEARN assessments. Only one Allen County school district saw more than 50% of its students pass the reading portion of the ILEARN assessment. Two school districts saw over 50% in the math portion.
Decatur seeks funds for school safety projects
Projects to enhance safety around the North Adams Schools campus received approval from Decatur City Council at its meeting Tuesday night. If state funding is secured, the work will involve crossing upgrades, including overhead signage, and a left-hand turn lane on Jackson St. at the US 224 intersection in front of the school campus. The crossings and the turn lane are separate projects.
