    NJ fake cop busted on LI with drugs, weapons, counterfeit cash: police

    NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – A New Jersey man who had a fake cop badge in his car was arrested on Thursday after police found him with drugs, weapons, and counterfeit cash on Long Island, according to the Nassau County Police Department.

    Joseph Zuziela, 43, was arrested at around 11:45 p.m. in Oceanside after officers pulled him over during a traffic stop.

    Following the stop, Zuziela was arrested without incident. Officers recovered law enforcement paraphernalia, including handcuffs, a gold badge, and multiple police uniforms.

    Police also found a metal baton, metal knuckles, metal knuckle knives, counterfeit money, miscellaneous gun parts, ammunition, a white powdery substance believed to be cocaine, glassine envelopes containing a tan powdery substance believed to be heroin, a red liquid substance believed to be methadone, and assorted pills believed to be dextroamphetamine.

    Upon further investigation, police discovered that Zuziela had an open arrest warrant out of Somerset County, New Jersey, for which he will be extradited.

    Zuziela was charged with two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance, two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance, criminal possession of a controlled substance, criminal possession of a weapon and an arrest warrant as a fugitive from justice.
