The Atlanta Hong Kong Dragon Boat Festival is a must-do event in the Atlanta area each year. This year's festival will take place Saturday, September 7 at Lake Lanier.

During this unique festival, thousands of competitors and spectators join to cheer their favorite teams, witness cultural events during the opening ceremonies, and indulge in cuisine from around the world.

The Dragon Boat Races are a sight to behold. The event started with only a handful of Dragon Boat racing teams, but now boasts a field of more than 80 teams! And although the participants are having a blast, it's a super fun event for spectators too.

In addition to the Dragon Boat Races, you'll also find cultural presentations and dances the whole family will love, as well as a variety of food vendors serving up favorites and some new dishes for you to try.

The event takes place at the Lake Lanier Olympic Venue at 3105 Clarks Bridge Road in Gainesville. Parking will be offered at Riverbend Church at 1715 Cleveland Hwy in Gainesville with a shuttle taking you to the festival. A carpool lot will be offered at New Haven Church at 615 White Sulphur Rd in Gainesville.

Parking at the venue opens at 5:30am, with off-site and shuttle parking opening at 6:30am. The Dragon Boat Races will begin at 8am. You can find the complete schedule of events HERE.
