Duke Energy offers energy bill assistance for NC families experiencing financial hardship

Duke Energy is supporting NC families experiencing adverse financial circumstances combat high energy bills through its Share the Light Fund . The Share the Light Fund works with 100+ agencies throughout NC to assist qualifying customers pay their energy bills, deposits, and other associated charges.

Although not all customers meet the qualifications to receive financial assistance, Duke Energy has additional savings and assistance programs readily available to all.

Those programs include:

• Usage alerts: Customers are informed of how much electricity they’ve used and its accumulated before the billing period ends.
• Home energy house calls: Energy professionals visit homes to assess for efficiency and offer free sources that assist with preserving energy.
• Budget billing: This helps ease the impact of higher bills by evening monthly payments.
• Payment plans: Available for customers who need the flexibility of installments.
