    Teen Driver's Wild Crash: Pickup Collides with Hay Swather, Injures Five in Ririe

    RIRIE, Idaho – Idaho State Police are investigating a two-vehicle injury crash that occurred south of Ririe early this morning.

    Just before 8:00 a.m. on July 6, 2024, ISP troopers responded to a report of the crash involving a 2005 GMC pickup and a 2023 Macdon hay swather. Both vehicles were being driven by juveniles. The GMC pickup, traveling eastbound on US26 near milepost 348, crossed the center line and struck the arm of the hay swather, coming to rest in a corn field on the right shoulder of the road.

    The driver of the pickup and another juvenile passenger were transported by ground ambulance to a local hospital. Other passengers, a 19-year-old female, an 18-year-old male, and a 22-year-old female, all from Victor, ID, were also transported to a local hospital.

    The driver of the pickup was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, while the passengers were not.

    Bonneville County Sheriff's Office assisted Idaho State Police with the incident.
