BOISE, Idaho – The Idaho Cattle Association (ICA) recently held its annual summer meeting in Lewiston, ID June 24-25, 2024. The event was last held in Lewiston in 2019. 2024′s meeting featured sessions on a variety of topics. A portion of attendees opt for participation in either the range tour or annual golf tournament. This year’s tour visited beef facilities & programs located in Moscow at the University of Idaho, while the golf tournament was played at Bryden Canyon Golf Course in Lewiston.

RECALL: Bacteria Risk For Dog And Cat Food Distributed In Idaho
A voluntary recall has been issued by a North Carolina company that manufactures raw pet food. The product is currently distributed to all 50 states. Viva Raw LLC has voluntarily recalled select packages of its dog and cat raw turkey food as a precaution against potential listeria contamination, according to information published by the U.S. Food & Drug Administration. Viva Raw entered into the pet food business in 2020 and uses organic natural supplements and USDA-inspected meats, according to the company's website.

100 years agoWith the November 1924 election only a few months away, prospects were looking rosy for Republicans in Idaho. Voters were rallying to President Calvin Coolidge “because they feel that at last there is someone who is not an orator but a doer,” said W. Lloyd Adams of Rexburg. “This feeling has been contributed to by the tactics of the Democrats in their reconvention campaign. … In eastern Idaho, there is much enthusiasm for the state administration and I doubt if the Progressives will be able to carry even Teton County, where the Samuels’ coal mine is.” The state nominating convention was set to be held in Idaho Falls, and word was that promoters had leased the Colonial Theatre for a special event. “Eastern counties are planning to send double and triple delegations, some sending as high as five delegates to every vote, to create enthusiasm,” Adams said.
