    Suspect wanted for shooting into residence near church in Corinth captured after manhunt

    The suspect that was wanted for shooting into a residence near a church in Alcorn County has been captured according to a press release from the Alcorn County Sheriff's Department.

    On Sunday July 21, 2024 the Alcorn County Sheriff’s Office issued a report that they were dispatched to the area of CR 157 and Cr 174 near Rock Hill Pentecostal Church in Alcorn County. It was reported that a white male, later identified as Brock Yates had fired shots at a residence on CR 174 near CR 175.

    Yates then drove through an individual in the areas yard and then wrecked at the above intersection. When he was confronted by citizens he exited his vehicle with a rifle and ran away from the area.

    After a search of over 24 hours and with assistance from the Corinth Police Department, Alcorn County Deputies apprehended Daniel Brock Yates in the woods next to his residence at 21 Lauren Drive in Corinth.
