Ole Miss cracks the College Football Playoff in latest prediction from national media outlet

Ole Miss is less than a month away from officially kicking off the 2024 season. While enthusiasm surrounding the program has never been higher, head coach Lane Kiffin and his team full of upperclassmen talent will be playing with sky-high expectations this fall.

Expectations are a privilege in the college football world, and Ole Miss has certainly earned them over the past three seasons. Kiffin has led the Rebels to a 29-10 record in that time frame and put together an 11-win season capped off with a Peach Bowl victory in 2023.

The latest piece of rat poison comes from On3's Jessee Simonton, who released his prediction for the inaugural 12-team playoff . In this particular prediction, Ole Miss is slotted in the field as the No. 8 seed and would square off with Michigan at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium.

The winner of the 8-9 matchup gets the privilege of playing the No. 1 seed in the second round, which would be Georgia in this instance.
