One bubble roster player is continuing to make plays during training camp for the Chiefs but it may be too late

The Kansas City Chiefs have a good problem going on at training camp. They have too many wide receivers that can make the roster but only have 6-7 spots for those guys on the 53-man roster. One of Chiefs Kingdom's fan favorites may not even make the roster, even though he's making plays at training camp.

To call Justyn Ross a fan favorite may actually sell him short. he's an undrafted free agent that fans wanted on the field immediately, with the starters. Ross has size and route running with a touch of contested catch ability that fans just stuck to, and the Instagram highlight of him working out and rehabbing had fans buzzing.

So, yeah, he's wanted on the roster. And, those plays have continued to be a thing at training camp, even on Tuesday during the 17th practice of the summer.

Two highlights in particular of Ross stand out, including the sideline catch he had during the Chiefs preseason game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. He had a very similar play over cornerback Jaylen Watson, and another one over cornerback Nazeeh Johnson, which, honestly was great defense by Johnson, Ross is just much bigger and towered over him to make the catch.

Here's the deal: Those are great catches and plays, but there is a recurring factor in them. Ross is not creating any separation. That's not to say he can't, but in these clips, he is not. Here is why these highlight plays don't mean much:

It's just too late. The Chiefs kept seven receivers last year, and if they were to do that again, or even keep six, I just don't see how Ross is one of the guys the Chiefs pick to be on the initial 53-man roster like he was last year.

The way I see it, the Chiefs will for sure have six guys they keep on the roster, and those will be Xavier Worthy, Rashee Rice, Hollywood Brown, Justin Watson, who has stepped up with Hollywood Brown out , Skyy Moore, and maybe even Kadarius Toney. The last two spots of the guys that are not locked will come between Toney, Ross, Mecole Hardman, and Nikko Remigio.

So, I just don't see how Ross makes it.
