The Alabama Crimson Tide are a little over two weeks away from the start of a new generation of football at the Capstone.

With changes all over the roster and within the coaching staff, fall camp has been a great test run for what the team will look like when things get real in September.

And while the team has widely been working in a closed capacity, a recent scrimmage was open to a select few, leaving us with plenty of takeaways, including two players who are emerging as potential stars and one who already is:

    WR Ryan Williams

The hype around Williams grows louder by the day. Williams is drawing rave reviews from people who have seen the work he’s putting in before the season. That will happen when you catch a long touchdown pass from Jalen Milroe. That’s what Williams did Saturday. “The real deal” is a popular description for Williams. He’s explosive and a playmaker.

Williams is a rarity even in the modern age of college football. He's not only an early enrollee, he's a year early. That's right, Williams is supposed to be in fall camp...

    For his high school.

Instead, the true freshman is making plays against a team that boasts a defense on a top-five-ranked overall resume in preseason . He still has some ground to make up in terms of making his way into the starting lineup, but we could see him sooner rather than later.

    DL LT Overton

The Texas A&M transfer is expected to be one of the top players at the Bandit defensive end spot for the Crimson Tide. It sounds like he made some plays Saturday in the scrimmage. If he can consistently provide pressure, he could prove disruptive for offenses.

Overton not only had to transfer himself from Texas A&M, but he also had to transform his body and playstyle to play within DC Kane Wommack's scheme, and it is seemingly paying dividends.

Reportedly up over 30 pounds and looking powerful as the strong side defensive end, otherwise known as the Bandit position, Overton is battling Jah-Marien Latham for the starting spot, with both showing signs of promise.

    QB Jalen Milroe

Milroe has displayed noticeable improvement, per multiple onlookers. A common review for Milroe from the scrimmage is that he is progressing and looks more polished.

One way he has improved: His decision-making. Milroe sounds to be making better decisions in the throws he makes, how he gets rid of the ball, and how he runs the offense.

Look, Milroe needs no introduction, and at this point, it's about seeing his progress in live action and against other competition, but if we know anything about Milroe, it's that he develops at an impeccable pace, and he looks to be doing that again under Kalen DeBoer.
