The Georgia Bulldogs are missing out on the nation's top offensive tackle and overall No. 2 recruit from the class of 2025.

Hayes Fawcett of On3 Sports reported Saturday afternoon that five-star-plus offensive tackle David Sanders Jr. has committed to the Tennessee Volunteers over the Bulldogs, Nebraska, and Ohio State.

Georgia was very much in the mix for Sanders Jr. , who visited Athens six times and even went as far to say, "It doesn't get any better than Georgia."

“Obviously, they’ve been a top school in my mind since you’ve stepped foot on Georgia’s campus,” Sanders Jr. told Dawgnation back in May. “I mean you just can’t deny the fact that if you’re a top player in the country you want to play against top-level competition. You want to play with a guy with the same mindset as you. I mean it doesn’t get any better than the University of Georgia.”

Sanders Jr. is currently a senior at Providence Day High School in Charlotte, North Carolina where he doubles as a pass rusher. In 2023, Sanders Jr. logged 24 tackles, four sacks, two pass breakups, and a forced fumble and fumble recovery. On the flip side of the ball, he helped Michigan quarterback commit Jadyn Davis to generate 3,758 passing yards last fall. Sanders was named 2023 North Carolina Gatorade Player of the Year for his outstanding efforts.

While not landing Sanders Jr. is a bit of a loss for the Dawgs, they still have 22 other talented players committed for their 2025 recruiting class that currently fourth overall.
